Alexander Ehhalt
Born 1964 in Heidelberg Germany, Alexander Ehhalt discovered his passion for landscape photography at an early age. He has been active as professional photographer for over 30 years, constantly improving his technical skills and visual perception as a advertising photographer, as well as developing his personal passion for nature and landscape photography. In 1988, he traveled to New Zealand, where he devoted an entire year to photographing the country with his large format camera. Since then, he has devoted himself on countless journeys worldwide to landscape- and panorama photography. Over the span of many years he has visited places like the abstract canyons and deserts of the south west U.S.A. In recent years, his photographic passions have led him to explore countries like Ireland, Scotland, Iceland and the Lofoten Islands as well as Tuscany and Venice, Italy.
His photographic work is published in various European publishing houses: Geo, Edition Panorama, and Dpunkt. His large format calendars have won international awards.
Alexander Ehhalt works as an independent photographer and is the co-founder, with his long-time partner, Bernhard Eisnecker, of both Lossen Photography Studios in Heidelberg, Germany as well as the Heidelberg Images Gallery, established in 2005. For 25 years, he has been instructing young photographers within the German apprenticeship educational system and teaches workshops together with Bruce Barnbaum as well as conducting his own workshop programs.
